Chris Grose - hendersonville, NC

Chris grew up in the upstate of SC but has a long family history in Western NC. Some of his best childhood memories are fishing for native brook trout around Brevard, NC with his grandfather. While in graduate school, Chris discovered an interest in fly fishing. After moving to Hendersonville, NC, fly fishing became a part of daily life.
After 12 years as an environmental consultant specializing in wetlands, streams, and rivers, he now teaches environmental courses at Blue Ridge Community College. In 2013, his teaching skills, love for fly fishing, and background in river processes and biology allowed him to begin working as a professional guide.
Chris has fly fished for both freshwater and saltwater species around the US and in several other countries. He has served in various capacities at Luthi's Outfitters in Greenville, SC and currently guides for Brookside Guides out of Asheville, NC.
He views competition fly fishing as the vehicle to take your fishing "to the next level".
