Alleigh Raymond - Hendersonville, NC
My name is Alleigh Raymond.
Ever since I was a young kid I always loved fishing, but spinning rods and bait was never really my thing. A family friend would always come out and fish with me in the two small lakes below my house, but he fly fished. I always loved the way it looked and the technique he had. It wasn't till the age of ten that I found fly fishing. The same friend gave me a fly rod for my birthday in August of 2013 and it all started from there. After meeting several fellow fishermen and gathering my own way of learning, I quickly developed a passion for the sport and helping others learn it by volunteering with the fly fishing classes at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education. After one of my best friends introduced me to euro nymphing I really liked the style of fishing he did and wanted to learn it for myself. I expressed my interest to a few of competition fisherman I was invited to a Team Stonefly practice in Nantahala, NC and I was then asked to join the team.
